Life Sciences is a growing sector, and we have adapted many of our products for use in a wide variety of applications. Today, many of our temperature sensors, optical sensors and spectrometers can be, and are being, used in the life sciences industry.

They can be found in everything from hospital MRI machines to pharmaceutical testing equipment.

Here are a few applications:

Pharmaceuticals testing
Our temperature sensors and spectrometers help pharmaceutical companies test their products and ensure they are safe and effective for use.

Medical research
The ability of our sensors to resist electromagnetic fields makes them invaluable within medical and pharmaceutical applications. Our products are even being used in field trials to detect skin diseases.

MRI machine calibration
Phantoms – objects used instead of humans - are used to calibrate MRI machines and ensure they are safe and accurate. Our sensors are used to measure the temperatures of these phantoms – ultimately helping to make the machines safe for use and ensuring they produce as accurate an image as possible.

Food inspecting
Our spectrometers are used in food inspecting, for example inspecting apples and potatoes in Japan.

Hospital heated mattress pads
Our immersion temperature sensors are used in heated mattress pads in hospitals to monitor the correct temperature of patients, including tiny infants that need a very precise body temperature to be maintained.
